~ Internet ~

The Internet is the worldwide, publicly accessible network of interconnected computer networks. It is a "network of networks" that consists of millions of smaller domestic, academic, business, and government networks, which provide information on Web pages and services such as electronic mail, online chat and file transfer.

There are a few common ways to connect to the Internet:

Dialup
The most economical is dialup service. This is where your phone line is used to connect to the Internet. You can find this service for around $10.00 per month. The two main drawbacks of this service is that you cannot talk on the phone while you are connected to the Internet and also it is slow navigating the Internet.

DSL
DSL uses your phone line, but you can talk on your phone while you are on the Internet.

Cable
Cable uses your Cable TV line.
